Yellow Apple

Golden Delicious

Fruit characteristics: Golden Delicious apples are pale green to golden yellow in colour and speckled with small spots. They are medium to large in size, and are a conical or oblong shape. Golden Delicious apples are crisp, firm and white-fleshed. They have a balanced sweet-tart aromatic flavour, which has been described as honeyed. The Yellow coloured apples look amazing on a multigrafted apple tree against the green and red fo the other apples. A wonderful apple to be enjoyed daily.

Blossoms: Pink buds and bloom as white flowers in Spring.

Pollination Information: Partially self pollinating but recommend cross pollination with a suitable flowering apple. Its is a great pollenizer for other apples. (Please note your apple tree will be sold with the correct pollinator for your variety, unless you order a single graft apple tree).

Preferred Climate: Cold Climate but is suitable for cool temperate areas as well.

Chill Hours: 600-700 hours

Can they grow in pots? Yes; we recommend planting your Fruit Salad Tree in pots starting in size of around 40 cm in diameter (see our care instructions for more information).

Height: When planted in the ground our multi-grafted Apple Fruit Salad Trees will grow to approximately 2.5 metres.

pH Range: 6.5-7.4

Frost: As spring temperatures often fluctuate it is always good to think about protecting your blossoms from frost.

Fruiting Season: February to April

Did you know? The flavour of Golden Delicious varies depending on where these apples are grown; in a cool climate, the amount of acid increases, creating a sweeter flavour. When grown in warmer areas, the acid content is lower, creating a milder flavour.
